Ferritic grade 444, a low carbon and low nitrogen ferritic stainless steel containing 18% chromium, 2% molybdenum.
The alloy is stabilized with additions of columbium and titanium for resistance to intergranular corrosion.
One big advantage of material stainless 444 over austenitic stainless steels, such as 304 and 316 alloys, is the practical immunity of grade 444 stainless to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
The alloy's enhanced resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion combined with its good general corrosion resistance
to a multitude of environments makes it an excellent choose for a wide range of applications.
Some of the more common applications include heat exchanger tubing, food processing equipment, and hot water tanks. The alloy's resistance to hot corrosion combined with its good creep resistance makes it an excellent choice for automotive exhaust applications.
We have 444 stainless steel billets, products covering round bars, flat bars, square bars, seamless steel tubes,
sheet / plate, and strip coil.
