EN 1.4749 DIN X18CrN28 AISI 446 Stainless Steel Drawn Wire For Glass Sealing

We have just finished production for AISI 446, UNS S44660, DIN X18CrN28 stainless steel wire in coil, cold hard drawn,

dia 1.0mm, tensile strength Mpa 800 min, HV 300 max.

Type 446 is a non-hardenable stainless chromium steel which has the highest corrosion and heat resisting properties of the straight chromium steels.
This 446 stainless grade is magnetic at all times.
446 stainless is a ductile 28% chromium-iron alloy which is used for glass-to-metal seals in special electronic and vacuum tubes and in incandescent and fluorescent lamps.
It exhibits no phase transformation up to 2100°F (1150°C) and is particularly adapted to outside sealing such as
caps where it has the advantage of gripping the glass on cooling, thus increasing the tightness of the seal.
